What we fund:
We fund studies that need people to rate, compare or label audio, visual or interactive media. For example:
Human evaluation of generative models
Subjective quality assessment: subjective quality tests on codecs and compression pipelines
Synthetic media detection: testing whether people can tell generated or manipulated media from the real thing
Relevance and moderation rating: relevance judgements for search and recommender systems, content policy adjudication

What you get:
Up to £2,000 in credits to collect data on Mabyduck with Prolific raters
Support on study design, rater screening and monitoring from our research team.
What sort of studies you can run:
Modalities: text, image, audio, video, and interactive stimuli embedded in the task.
Languages: English (British and American), French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Vietnamese, Hindi, Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.
Who can apply: PhD candidates, postdocs and faculty from any research institution.
How it works:

We may get in touch with further questions or a suggestion about the design.

You run the study, collect your data and share a short 1-page case study with us. We'll be on hand to help throughout.
FAQ:
Do I need ethics approval? We handle rater recruitment, consent and payment, but this depends on your institution's requirements.
Can the grant pay for anything other than credits? No. It's platform credit, and can't be transferred or paid out.
What if my study needs more than £2,000? Apply anyway and tell us. We'll fund up to the ceiling and talk about the rest.
